International Day of Prayer
You can select a day in your church calendar to make Modern Slavery the focus of your service. The service can include sermons focused on slavery and the journey to Freedom. You may also like to establish prayer stations that assist your congregations to learn more about modern slavery and focus their prayer specifically.
A church resource kit will be available online or can be sent to you.
Become a Freedom Ambassador in your community
Are you interested in become a leader in
your community to End Modern Slavery? As a Freedom Ambassador you can coordinate events and activities in your community. You can also connect or establish a Freedom Network who are trained and ready to respond to people in your community who have experienced slavery. Head to endslavery.salvos.org.au/act/freedom- ambassadors/ to fill out an expression of interest and a member of our team will be in contact with you to discuss your ideas.
Become a Salvos School Ambassador (Salvos Schools)
If you are interested in issues of Social Justice including modern slavery, you can connect to the Salvos Schools Community. Here they can provide you resources and information about how you can be involved. You may also consider registering as a Freedom Ambassador, to be a leader in your school community.

Host a film screening
It can be in your lounge room, staff room or in the theatre! Some film suggestions include: Amazing Grace, Dying to Leave, Ghosts, Mandela: Long Road to Freedom, Lincoln.

Here are some suggestions to kick start your creative genius:
Your local photography group runs an online exhibition of photos which focus on themes of freedom and empowerment. You can post your photos on Instagram or share them via Twitter and Facebook (@partner4freedom)
Workplace casual Friday gold coin donation
Christmas Hampers (homemade goodies), money raised selling these can be given as a donation
Create a cartoon or graphic that raises awareness of the different forms of Slavery in Australia. Send us your graphic and we can feature it via social media and in other promotional materials endslavery@aue.salvationarmy.org
